More Sewing Fun

This past Tuesday the ladies up in the Sewing Club were having a little too much fun!  We could hear them laughing all over the store, but when you went up to find what was so funny they just laughed even harder.  The photos were taken very stealthily.  Everyone was finishing up their cutwork napkins that they started two weeks ago.

Tonight we are having our monthly Stitch-n-Flix class in Golden.  We are doing Christmas in July in August, so this month we will be making a Christmas card holder and watching the movie "The Holiday".  This is another one of those classes where everyone laughs so much.  we have discovered that we need to keep the projects simple, because it is hard to sew, talk, eat and watch a movie all at the same time.

It sounds like all we do around here is laugh and have fun; that is pretty much the truth.  All sewers know that you have much more fun when you have a "sewing buddy" and that is what we are here for.  All of us here at Wallace will be your "sewing buddy".

The Ladies of Embroidery Club

Today is our monthly embroidery club meeting and oh are the ladies having fun.  Our embroidery club ladies are joking that we should rename the club to the Table Runner of the Month Club, they do enjoy making table runners!  They used cutwork designs for this month's project, and it was so much fun watching them cut away the excess fabric so that their embroidery machines could then finish the design.  They sure will love seeing the new cutwork needles making an easy job of the trim process. Iva is focusing very hard on trimming isn't she?

In two weeks this group will get back  together to finish the projects.  They only did the embroidery today and some of the embroidery was spectacular.  This piece above was done by Anne, she really has a great eye for color.

Our other Ann is always so much fun to have in class, and you can see by the smile on her face what a good time she is having.

May Days

Well the month of May is almost over and it has been a busy one here.  We had Lunch Bunch on the 14th, and as usual we had a full house.  This months topic was Servicing Your Machine.  Not only were the ladies very interested but many of them added their own useful tips to the discussion.  Lunch Bunch meets in our Boulder location on the 2nd Friday of each month, from 11:30am - 1:00pm with a fee of $5.  Where else can you get good companionship as well as lunch for only $5.  It is easy to see by the photos that everyone is having a great time.   The last photo is a close-up of one of Marion's quilts. She does the most wonderful work!
This is slow time of the year for Chris for sewing machine service, so why not get that tune up now, because we all know that they will start to act up when we are in the middle of our Christmas sewing.   September through December he is always swamped with machines.

Remember the warm months of summer are the perfect time to sew.  Many days it is simply too hot to go outside until late afternoon, so why not spend those days sewing!

Spring Time at Wallace

It is over half way through April and the weather has been beautiful so far, however, we are supposed to get some rain later in the week.  What would April be without rain?

We have a couple of eventful weeks here at Wallace.  The second Friday of each month we have our "Lunch Bunch" get together.  This month we had 12 ladies for lunch, show and tell and then a quick demo.  Show and Tell as always is wonderful.  Annabelle had brought the quilt of Betty Bs that she had just finished quilting and it was beautiful.  We will have pictures as soon as Betty B finishes binding it.  Marion had two new quilts to show and Jane also had one that she brought.  Millie brought a wall hanging that she had made for her daughter who is leaving for the Middle East.  You can see how intently they were all listening to Betty B.

Then on Tuesday last week Cookie's Ladies came for Embroidery Club.  This month they are creating an embroidered table runner.  This is a little different than most table runners in that the blocks are placed "on point".  Many of the ladies also came on Thursday to PHD ( Projects Half Done) to continue working on their embroideries for that project.  They will meet again in a week to put it all together.

We also had Diamond Club and a 4D Software Know How class on Saturday.  Boy have we been busy!  Let us know what you have been sewing.  Email photos to sherri@wallacevacuumsewing.com  so that we can share them.

Happy sewing

The First Post

Welcome to the first post at the Wacky World of Wallace Sewers.  Yes we are now blogging.  Who knows what new and exciting thing we will try next.

We have an Anita Goodesign Trunk Show hanging in our Boulder location.  We just hung it yesterday so we should have it for at least two more weeks, come by and take a peek.  For anyone who doesn't know Anita Goodesign is a machine embroidery design company that has spectacular designs.  Each month we get a trunk show from them with some amazing samples.  They can really get the creative juices flowing!

Do you have any projects you want to share with the WORLD, well this is the spot.  We will also be posting photos of projects done by our staff and customers.

This is the end of the first blog, short sweet and to the point.  Check back often and be sure to leave your feedback.
